We are Fresherland, a blog that focuses on longer form papers and magazine-style articles. We publish essays, analyses, and commentaries on a broad range of topics from politics to business, science, society, and health. However, we only publish if two conditions are met:
- what we write must offer our readers a fresh perspective and
- the piece should have a long shelf life.
In short: We aim to offer fresh perspectives that yield insights that will eventually become certainties.
Our belief
To zero in on this goal we are guided by one fundamental belief: We firmly believe that ideology, regardless of its façon, is a dead end because it is inherently short sighted. Humanity is currently entering a phase in history where this is becoming increasingly apparent (more on our reasoning here). The goal of ensuring the longevity of our content is therefore directly linked to the goal of wearing as few ideological blinders as possible.
You may well ask: If your north star is neither socialism nor nationalism, nor liberalism or conservatism, what values guide you in your writing?
What guides us is a strong belief in science. We believe that science is the answer to many of humanity's most pressing problems and should guide public policy much more than it has in the past, rather than serving primarily as a springboard for technological progress through research.
